Man (30s) and Boy (5) Die in Offaly Crash

The crash happened at around 5 pm today. 

Gardai have confirmed that a man in his 30s and a 5-year-old boy have died following a collision in Scrubb near Tullamore in Co. Offaly. 

A car and an articulated truck were involved in the incident.

A young girl (age unknown) was airlifted to Crumlin Children’s Hospital with life-threatening injuries and a fourth passenger in the car (male age unknown) has been taken to the Midland Regional Hospital in Tullamore. 

The male driver of the truck (only occupant) was also taken to the Midland Regional Hospital in Tullamore with minor injuries.

Appeal for Witnesses 

The road is currently closed to facilitate a Garda forensic collision examination and local diversions are in place.
