Several parts of the country are set to be hit with snow this weekend according to Met Éireann.
The national forecaster is predicting wintry showers of sleet and snow are for Saturday night, with the worst to come on Sunday.
There will also be frost and icy patches in places as temperatures drop to 0 degrees.
Met Eireann forecaster John Eagleton said the north west, ulster, Donegal, Tyrone and across to Roscommon will see the heaviest of the snowfall.
While it's unlikely any snow will be seen in the east of the country.
The national forecaster said:
Saturday will be a bright day with good sunshine and scattered heavy showers with highs of 7 to 10 degrees in fresh westerly winds.
However it's Saturday night where things will turn, with wintry showers of rain, hail and sleet expected turning increasingly to snow overnight. Temperatures will range between 0 to 3 degrees with moderate to fresh westerly winds.
Sunday will be a very cold day with sunny spells and wintry showers of rain hail, sleet and snow.
Highest temperatures of 4 to 7 degrees with fresh, gusty westerly winds, strong in coastal areas.
On Sunday night, showers will become more isolated. It will be cold with lowest temperatures of 0 to 2 degrees with frost and icy patches in places.
