The current backlog of NCT and driving test appointments has been described as deeply concerning by Fine Gael.
Alan Dillon is part of the Joint Committee on Transport and Communications, which is meeting with representatives from the Road Safety Authority and Applus today
Long-term staffing issues at the Car Testing Service have lead to wait times of up to 6 months for NCT and driving tests
Deputy Dillon says the public deserves better:
"The RSA and Applus have know about these issues for some time now and certainly we can't overlook the fact that people's lives and their livelihoods are at stake here with these delays."
"And I think the public is rightly angered, frustrated, and are demanding a resolution to these issues."
