The man is thought to be from Dublin.
A man has died while climbing Mweelrea mountain, in west Mayo.
The man, in his 60s, is understood to be from Dublin and was with family members at the time of the tragic incident.
A sudden death was reported to local Gardaí at approximately 3.40pm on Wednesday (4 September).
Emergency services attended the scene and his body was taken to Mayo University Hospital in Castlebar for a post-mortem examination.
A report will now be submitted to the local Coroner as per the Coroners Act.
