A 44 year old man has died following a serious assault
Gardai have launched a murder investigation after the death of a man in Co. Louth.
44 year-old, Marius Juodenas was found seriously injured at a house on Barrack St. in Dundalk on July 5th.
Marius Juodenas was discovered with serious injuries in a house shortly before 7 pm on July 5th.
He was brought to Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital, Drogheda before being transferred to Beaumont Hospital - where he was placed on life support.
He died yesterday in hospital.
Gardaí in Louth are now investigating “all of the circumstances” surrounding the death Mr Juodenas.
An incident room has been set up at Dundalk Garda Station.
Gardai are appealing for any witnesses to come forward.
Officers say they the particularly want to speak to anyone in the vicinity of Barrack Street between 6:30pm and 7:00pm on Tuesday 5th July.
“A postmortem was conducted today at Dublin City mortuary, the results of which are not being released for operational reasons,” a Garda statement said.
