The campaign aims to reduce the number of fatalities by targeting those driving too fast.

Dylan Coady Coleman, a 10-year-old boy from Clare, is the 37th person to die on the roads so far this year.

Superintendent Liam Geraghty says small actions can have a huge impact.

'The World Health Organisation statistics would show that even a reduction of 5 kilometers an hour in average speed and that's not just for people driving outside the speed limit but for people driving within the  limit as well, reducing their speed by 5 kilometers an hour can actually have a decrease of 30 per cent decrease in the amount of road fatalities on the roads.'
