A motorcyclist in his 30s has been taken to hospital with serious injuries, after he collided with a truck in Co. Westmeath in the early hours of this morning.
The incident happened on the M6 between Moate and Athlone, the truck driver was uninjured.
The stretch of motorway is currently closed westbound between junctions 7 and 8, Moate and Athlone.
Diversions are in place while a forensic examination of the scene is carried out.
