Two teens killed in Monaghan crash are named as tributes paid to victims

The crash happened on the Clones to Smithborough road in Co. Monaghan last night.

The two girls who died in a crash in Monaghan last night have been named locally as 17-year-old Kiea McCann and 16-year-old Dlava Mohamed.

They were on the way to the Largy College debs when the crash happened last night on the N54 in Legnakelly on the Clones to Smithborough Road.

A man in his sixties is still in a critical condition after the incident, while an 18-year-old girl is in a critical but stable condition.

An 18-year-old boy who was a passenger in the car is being treated for non-life threatening injuries.

Monaghan locals share tributes

The Principal of Largy College has said students, staff, Board of Management and parents are in deep shock after the tragedy.

Meanwhile locals have shared their sadness at the news, offering their condolences to the victims' families and loved ones, and describing it as a terrible incident.
