Minister Catherine Martin is to appear before the Media Committee tomorrow over the resignation of Siún Ní Rathallaigh.
It's after the media minister failed to express confidence in the former RTE Chair on live TV last week, prompting Ms Ní Rathallaigh's resignation.
The minister's former Secretary General who had no recollection of the approval of an exit package for former RTE CFO Richard Collins, will also appear before the Committee.
Fine Gael Media spokesperson Senator Micheál Carrigy believes the minister is right.
He said: "I think she was correct to put forward her views based on what had happened in the previous week, and the reality is what happened the previous week was not acceptable.
"On two occasions, questions were asked on a specific issue that's in the national media, that's at the core of at lot of the issues here at RTE, and the factually incorrect information was given directly to the minister."
