A series of weather warnings have been issued, as Storm Elin tracks towards Ireland.
Weather warnings have been issued for 28 counties until later this evening, with the south escaping the worst.
A number of yellow alerts for wind and rain are already in effect for much of the rest of the country - the exceptions being Cork, Kerry, Limerick and Waterford - and will remain in place until later this evening.
Met Éireann's Michelle Dillon from says we can expect gale force winds and wave overtopping in coastal areas, explaining that "it's going to track across northern parts of the country today, bringing some very strong winds right across the country." Dillion expanded that a "Yellow Wind Warning is issued for much of the country, bar parts of the south and southwest."
