Met Éireann is forecasting highs of 18 or 19 degrees this week.
Forecasters say the midlands and the west will be the warmest.
But Alan O'Reilly from Carlow Weather says a cold spell could be on the way towards the end of the weekend.
'It does look more unsettled for the weekend with temperatures dropping back as well, a little bit of uncertainty around the detail but unfortunately the weather models are hinting at a cold northerly blast possibly coming in around the end of the weekend into next week. Winter might be trying to make a little bit of a late come back so that's something to keep an eye on.'
