The MMA fighter has been voicing on X desire to become the President of Ireland
It seems Conor McGregor's hopes of becoming the next President of Ireland have come to an end, before they even begun.
The MMA has been voicing his desire on social media platform X, formerly known as Twitter, to succeed Michael D. Higgins.

Some of his plans for his presidency include, "the appointing of An Taoiseach will begin with a friendly sparring match in my purpose built, Presidents Octagon, in the grass outside Áras an Uachtaráin."
If anointed, the appointing of An Taoiseach will begin with a friendly sparring match in my purpose built, Presidents Octagon, in the grass outside Áras an Uachtaráin. Gumshield, 16oz gloves, shin pads, vale tudo for Caio. If you cannot spar a friendly spar with your President…

Even the platform's owner gave his view on McGregor's potential competition.

But not a single Independent TD or Senator is prepared to back Conor McGregor for president.
He would have to get the backing of 20 members of the Oireachtas or four local authorities.
When the time comes in 2025, the main political parties are likely to back their own candidates.
The Sun says one Independent told the paper, "I wouldn't even nominate him to wash the dishes."
The Irish Sun surveyed the current crop of Independent TDs and Senators to estimate the level of support McGregor and not one politician said they’d back him.
Of 33 independents, 12 responded to The Irish Sun and none offered McGregor their support if he sought their help getting on the ballot paper.
