Man (28) appears in court charged with dangerous driving at Louth graveyard

James McDonagh has been remanded in custody.

A 28-year-old man has appeared in court charged in connection with an incident at a graveyard in Louth on Sunday.

James McDonagh of Glenmore Park, Muirhevnamor, Dundalk was also charged with unlawful use of a car without the owner's consent on top of the initial charge.

One man was seriously injured after McDonagh allegedly drove the car into crowds at a blessing of the graves ceremony in St Patrick's Cemetery in Dundalk.

The accused was remanded in custody to appear before Cloverhill District Court next tuesday.

Gardaí investigating the incident continue to appeal for witnesses or to those with video footage of the incident to come forward and contact the incident room at Dundalk Garda Station on 042-9388400, the Garda Confidential line 1800-666-111 or any Garda Station.
