Maria Bailey has been embroiled in controversy over an incident involving a swing at a hotel in Dublin.
Health Minister Simon Harris says Deputy Bailey's interview about her personal injuries claim was "unfortunate and regrettable".
He thinks his party colleague's tone was one of blaming everyone else.
Deputy Bailey spoke on RTE radio this morning about her decision to sue a hotel in Dublin after she fell off a swing at the property.
It was confirmed over the weekend that she had decided to withdraw the claim.
Her future in Fine Gael is now in question, with some in the party feeling the claim and her response have brought it into disrepute.
Simon Harris, who is Ms Bailey's second cousin, has reacted to her comments today.
"I think it was an unfortunate interview. I think when you withdraw a claim, that is an acknowledgement that perhaps that claim shouldn't have proceeded. Yet the interview still very much seemed to be in the space of blaming lots of other people."
