It happened in Fermoy this afternoon.
A man in his 70s has died in a fatal road collision in County Cork.
It happened on the Mill Road in Fermoy at around 2.10pm today (1st May).
The man was the sole occupant of the car and was fatally injured when his vehicle collided with a pole.
He was pronounced dead at the scene and his body has been taken to the mortuary at Cork University Hospital.
The road was closed to facilitate a Garda forensic examination but has since reopened.
