ITV2 bosses have responded to fans who were skeptical after seeing the girls make-up soon after their love triangle with Tommy Fury.
Love Island bosses are denying claims that Longford's Maura knew Molly-Mae before entering the villa.
Their relationship got off to a rocky start when they both wanted to pair up with boxer Tommy Fury.
When he decided to couple up with influencer Molly-Mae, the girls appeared to patch things up fairly quickly.
They've since been filmed spending time together in the villa - fueling speculation that they may have been real-life friends before entering.
It comes amid rumours that they had been spotted dining at a restaurant in Dubai together in March of this year.
One source claims "They were sitting there, all dressed up and having dinner together".
They told the Mirror that "They looked like really good mates, not like they had just met each other. The managers and waiters couldn't take their eyes off them, they were just saying they were beyond-level fit.".
However, ITV2 bosses have told Metro.co.uk that "Maura and Molly-Mae have never met previously to meeting in the villa".
