A post mortem is to take place today on the body of a man who died following an assault in Co Longford.
The man, who was in his 50s, died yesterday afternoon in hospital, after being seriously assaulted outside a pub in Foigha on Thursday.
A man in his 30s, arrested shortly after the attack, remains in Garda custody having appeared before the Criminal Courts of Justice on Saturday morning in connection with the incident.
