The number of Leaving Cert students appealing their results this year has increased by 74%.
Over 9,000 students have appealed 17,000 grades - that's one in six candidates looking for appeals.
A recent High Court ruling means that the State Examinations Commission introduced changes this year to speed up the appeals process. Students now know the outcome of their appeals more than three weeks earlier than previously, in mid-September.
RTE report that Higher Level Biology is the most-appealed subject this year as 2,092 students have sent their results to be rechecked.
The next three most likely results to be appealed this year are Higher Level Irish, English, and Maths.
