The Law Society claims a 'highly offensive' WhatsApp group did not contain any references to any female students.
But it says the investigation is still under way and disciplinary action may follow.
The law school launched an investigation last week into the content of a private messaging chat between male students. One female trainee condemned the content as "misogynistic", "sexist" and "childish".
In a statement today, the Law Society says the investigation into the WhatsApp group by a small number of students isn't yet finished but it says it has completed its review of the content of the group.
The law school says it remains very concerned about students engaging in any inappropriate messaging. However, the society insists the WhatsApp group did not contain any references to any female students.
The law school says that once the investigation is complete, it will be decide on any disciplinary action.
