This year saw the second full year of exams in the reformed Junior Cycle
A record number of Junior Cert students will collect their results today.
Over 70 thousand student sat the exams this year and can get their results in school this morning or online from 4 pm.
It's the first time that the number of candidates sitting the Junior Cycle exceeded 70 thousand students.
This is only the second year all candidates sat exams under the fully reformed Junior Cycle curriculum.
Today sees 600 thousand grades being issued across 21 individual subjects.
Josepha Madigan, Minister of State for Special Education and Inclusion, is encouraging students not to stress over the results:
"They will be able to get their results online, which is a new facility compared to years ago when you had to physically go in.
"Either way it's not the Leaving Cert, it's the Junior Cert and it's a good way to see how they cope with state exams and they'll have another run at it when they have their Leaving Cert in a couple of years time."
