Leo Varadkar thinks its a great Munster rugby song
The Taoiseach believes those who sing 'Zombie' by The Cranberries aren't thinking about the politics of the song.
Irish rugby fans have been singing it at the World Cup.
It's prompted debate about the appropriateness of the song because of its controversial origin following the IRA bombing in Warrington.
However, Leo Varadkar says it's a great Munster rugby song:
"I'd say now as I think sometimes people read in too much into the songs that people sing. I'm not sure all that many people are thinking about the politics."
The Taoiseach continued, "Zombie is a great Munster rugby song, you know Dolores [O'Riordan] from Limerick, it's been sung at rugby matches for a very long time.
"Actually, it's a good north/south one, baring in mind this is a team that has support from both communities from north and south."
Also, former Irish international Shane Byrne claims, "sometimes a good tune is just a good tune."
