Two Irish rugby fans have been arrested in Japan on suspicion of drug possession.

The men were arrested at a Karaoke bar in Tokyo on Friday night when they were allegedly found with heroin in their possession. One of them also fell unconscious, according to 'Japan Today' and local media reports one of them was found collapsed at the bar and taken to hospital.

It's understood that one of the men, in his 20s, denied the allegation while the other man, who's in his 30s was taken to hospital.

The Department of Foreign Affairs says it is aware of the case and is providing consular assistance.
