Farmers throughout the country came out in thousands last night.
They stood in solidarity with their European counterparts who are protesting against EU regulations.
They claim they are subjected to onerous levels of bureaucracy and the EU is going to 'regulate them out of business'.
In the past few days, farmers have been blocking major roadways in European cities .
They are protesting due to various issues including an increase in regulations, rising costs and low-cost food imports.
The Irish Examiner reports that farmers made their way to Galway, Cork and Athlone to protest last night.
Munster Regional Chair of the IFA Conor O'Leary says significant numbers came out to protest.
He also says the protesters have had "nothing but cheers from the sidewalks."
