The reform vote comes as the government threatens to cut funds
Officials from the Irish Amateur Boxing Association will meet today for an extraordinary general meeting.
The meeting comes as much-needed reforms need to be introduced after a controversial few months for the organisation.
Delegates from Ireland's 338 boxing clubs will meet in Roscommon.
The gathering follows a warning from Government that without reform, 15 per cent of public funds will be cut immediately.
Bernard Dunne who was high performance director for the association stepped down from his role in May.
He felt as if his position was undermined.
His sudden exit brought the controversy in the Irish Amateur Boxing Association to head.
An independent review of the sport has since recommended a major restructuring of the IABA board.
The stakes are high, with governance reform needing at least 75% of the vote in order to succeed.
In a statement, IABA Chief Executive Fergal Carruth outlined the serious consequences of today's vote, saying that "the Irish boxing family faced a pivotal choice".
