We already knew we're not in for the best of weeks weather-wise and now Met Éireann has issued a new rainfall warning for a number of counties.
You'd have to admit we haven't been having the best of luck over the last couple of weeks when it comes to the weather, between Storm Ciara and Storm Dennis battering the country.
We also know that things aren't looking great for the next couple of days, with more rain forecast.
Met Éireann has now issued a status yellow weather warning that will come into effect for nine counties from 4.00am on Wednesday.
The warning will cover all of Connacht, as well as Longford, Donegal, Clare and Kerry and it will be valid until 4.00am on Thursday.
Rainfall Warning.
Level: Yellow.
For Connacht, Longford, Donegal, Clare and Kerry.
Valid: 4am Wednesday to 4am Thursday.https://t.co/ozrQHtoOkt pic.twitter.com/x6mpFQbrYo— Met Éireann (@MetEireann) February 18, 2020
The national forecaster says 25 to 40mm will be expected in some places.
There's also a risk of localised flooding, especially with the ground still saturated from Storm Dennis and the elevation of river levels following the recent heavy rainfall.
