Well, that cold snap was short-lived.
It looks like the cold snap is coming to an end.
Overall, Met Eireann says the weather will gradually become more settled in the week ahead.
Today
There'll be just isolated showers in northern areas today but mostly dry with sunny spells in other areas.
Temperatures are expected today between 6 and 9 degrees, while tonight they'll just fall to between 5 and 7.
Tomorrow
Meanwhile tomorrow, it'll be milder again, with highest temperatures of between 10 and 13 degrees.
Tomorrow, it'll be damp and mostly cloudy with patchy rain and drizzle but with good dry periods too.
For the rest of the week then, it looks set not to drop below 6 degrees, with it generally expected to be between 7 and 10 degrees.
High pressure comes in from Tuesday, bringing more settled weather, according to Alan O'Reilly from Carlow weather.
The week ahead
Rain, rain and more rain though - it's set to be fairly dull and drizzly for the week.
Here's the general outlook of the week, according to Met Éireann:
"A largely settled spell of weather for the rest of the week with only small amounts of rain or drizzle and high pressure dominating.
"Temperatures close to normal in general but a little on the cold side in the east. There'll be some frost and fog forming under cloud breaks by night."
But keep an eye, you never know what might change.
