A new study highlights the dangers of vaping, linking e-cigarettes with damage to the brain, heart, blood vessels and lungs.
Cardiologists are calling for vaping to be banned, as a new study shows e-cigarettes can cause damage to the body through toxic chemicals that are released during the vaping process.
The research, which was carried out in Germany, saw mice exposed to e-cigarette vapour a number of times a day for up to five days.
Scientists found that one vaping episode increased heart rates, stiffened arteries and caused the inner lining of the arteries to stop working properly.
The study, which was published in the European Heart Journal, says aggressive steps are warranted to limit the health risks vaping poses.
However, Dr. Des Cox who is a consultant in paediatric respiratory medicine says he believes more studies are needed:
"We would like to see more human studies done but again the problem with that is we're going to have to wait years for those studies to come out because that would require us to examine people who chronically vape."
