Indoor dining is due to return from the 5th July.

The government is reportedly looking at the option of pushing back indoor service in pubs and restaurants.

Indoor dining has been set to be back from the 5th of July.

But, reports suggest that could be pushed back by 2 weeks because of concerns over the Delta variant.

A final decision is expected early next week after NPHET considers that threat.

The Licensed Vintners Association says suggestions of a two-week delay to indoor dining is "extremely concerning".

Association chair, Noel Anderson, says they've "seen this playbook time and time again".

"At this point we've given all we can do and if this is to be the last 2 weeks, we can give no more after that," he said.

Mr Anderson added, "We are closed 468 days today and we're reaching the end of the road here."

Meanwhile, the Delta variant is also causing concern for the aviation industry.

It's reported there could be a delay to introducing the EU Digital Covid cert because of it.

However, the Tánaiste said last weekend the country was "on target" to reopen foreign travel on July 19th.
