Four men have been remanded in custody after appearing in court in Virginia, Co. Cavan, charged with the assault and false imprisonment of Kevin Lunney.

The Quinn Industrial Holdings director was targeted on September 17th as he was on his way home from work.

Sixty six-year-old Luke O'Reilly of Mullahoran Lower, Kilcogy, Co. Cavan and a 38-year-old man who cannot be named because of a reporting restriction made no applications for bail.

Twenty five-year-old Darren Redmond of Calendon Road, East Wall, Dublin and 38-year-old father of three Alan O'Brien of Shelmalier Road also in East Wall, both had their applications for bail rejected after Gardaí objected on a number of grounds including concerns over evidence and potential witness intimidation.
