We're a generous bunch!
If we ever wanted proof of how great the Irish are, then here it is.
Irish people have given more money to charity than corporate bodies and businesses over the past five years.
A report on Philanthropic and Charitable Giving in Ireland by Benefacts shows €800 million has been given to charity in that time.
Managing Director, Patricia Quinn, says one of the biggest contributors is the National Lottery.
She says €266 million is raised for Good Causes by the National Lottery.
Ms Quinn says of the €800m raised over the past five years, 700 million was given by individuals and households.
That "vastly" exceeds what is given by businesses.
The other 100 million is then raised by philanthropies, which is the minority style of giving.
Ms Quinn adds that this makes us very different from other countries.
It comes just after another weekend of Christmas magic, where 6.6 million was raised during the Late Late Toy Show.
It's appeal is in its second year, last year it raised a similar amount, meaning around 13 million was raised altogether by the Toy Show Appeal.
