Two men, charged in connection with the hijacking and taking of a minibus from Dublin Airport, will appear in court again next week.

Twenty five year old Stephen McDonagh and 26 year old John McDonagh, both with an address at The Steeples, Navan, Co. Meath, were brought before Cavan District Court this afternoon.

The court heard a Columbian woman and two English minors were on board when the alleged incident began at around 1am on Wednesday morning.

The mini-bus was taken onto the M1 and the passengers got off unharmed around Julianstown.

The vehicle rammed a Garda car before crossing over border where it hit a PSNI vehicle.

It then went to Monaghan where it crashed, before two occupants fled and were pursued in a different car by Gardaí before it rammed a Garda vehicle and two men were arrested.

The court heard both men made no reply when they were charged overnight.

Stephen McDonagh made no application for bail, while Judge Denis McLoughlin refused bail for John McDonagh.

They have been remanded in custody to appear in Cloverhill Court next Thursday.
