There's a lot of back and forth with this.

Work is continuing on trying to stage Electric Picnic next month.

The live events sector are calling for the Government to show support for the industry.

Some senior ministers are believed to be supporting the idea.

If it goes ahead, the festival would be held in Laois at the end of September.

That's despite Laois County Council refusing permission.

It's believed a number of different options are being looking at.

Such as only allowing vaccinated people into the festival and designating it as a pilot event.

But Music and Entertainment Association spokesperson Matt McGranahan says musicians who work indoors also need help to get back to their jobs too.

Meanwhile, the Cabinet sub-Committee on Covid-19 are due to meet today.

They're expected to discuss the details of a plan to end restrictions.

It's due to be published on Tuesday and should include details on reopening the live events sector as well as guidance on the return to offices.

Passenger numbers on public transport are due to be restored to full capacity next week.

CEO of the Restaurants Association of Ireland, Adrian Cummins, says allowing later opening hours for hospitality would ease pressure on transport services.
