Dublin venue The Bernard Shaw has confirmed it's going to shut down.
The popular pub The Bernard Shaw will close its doors next month after 13 years in business.
Venue bosses have announced the news on social media this afternoon.
They say the closure includes the pub, Eatyard and 'all organisational, art and performance spaces'.
It's with heavy hearts that we announce the end of our Bernard Shaw adventure. At the end of October 2019 we will close the Shaw, Eatyard, all organisational, art and performance spaces and everything else in the building and yards - for good.https://t.co/CGDpyluYIv

The reaction to the announcement on Twitter has been overwhelmingly negative, with users lamenting the loss of such a well-known establishment, so as you can imagine, some of the language in these tweets is slightly NSFW.
They’re closing The Bernard Shaw? Are you fucking serious ? ? where is left for Dublin pints and daycent tunes with like minded people?

Bernard Shaw and Eatyard being forced to close, I could ACTUALLY scream, the hack of this town and its complete lack of foresight when it comes to anything that provides any semblance of culture for its people

Unlike a lot of other food/drinks ventures, Bodytonic and The Bernard Shaw have been nothing but a force for good in Dublin. If others had half their creative vision, the city would be infinitely better off. I'm so sad about this!
