A meeting will take place on the issue next week.

New ESRI research shows the number of people not having their covid certs checked has risen in hospitality settings.

It's risen from 21% to 37 per cent for pubs and to 34 per cent for restaurants.

The Restaurants Association says everyone needs to be 'on message' with inspections over the next 7 weeks to Christmas.

It comes ahead of a meeting between the Government and the industry on Tuesday to discuss covid rule breaking.

The Chief Medical Officer urged people to feel "empowered to leave" if they're in an environment that feels non-covid compliant.

That includes anywhere they're not asked for a Covid cert, where there are no hand washing facilities or if mask wearing is not as it should be.

In a post on Twitter, Dr Holohan said such environments are riskier than they should be.

It comes as 3,685 covid cases were confirmed yesterday.

It's the fifth day in a row the official tally has been over 3-thousand, that's a level not seen since January.
