It comes a day after new restrictions were announced.
The Department of Health has confirmed 7,333 new cases of Covid-19 this afternoon.
410 patients are being treated in hospitals, which is down 10 on yesterday's figures.
While 107 are in ICU - that's up 2 on yesterday.
Chief Medical Officer Dr Tony Holohan says a "large number of cases" can be expected over the "next short period of time".
The Omicron variant is now estimated to make up 35% of Ireland’s confirmed cases.
Omicron will be a very significant challenge, but we are acting early, quickly and comprehensively. If we take a booster vaccine when offered, significantly limit contacts, mitigate risk, self-isolate if symptomatic and restrict movements if a contact, we can get through it. 1/22 pic.twitter.com/221nBd605Z
