Rolling Stone names Aretha Franklin's Respect as #1 song with some Irish in top 500

U2 and Sinead O'Connor have gotten a look in.

Recently we brought you the best driving song, and the best lullaby song.

But, now we've got results from a very prestigious source of the best songs of all time.

The top 20 in the Greatest Songs of All Time in the 2021 Rolling Stone poll has been revealed.

And it has names Aretha Franklin’s 'Respect' at number one.

At #2 is Public Enemy, 'Fight the Power'.

While #3 is Sam Cooke, 'A Change Is Gonna Come'.

Elsewhere in the rankings, some Irish artists got a look in.

Three U2 bops have featured - 'One' is at 62, With or Without You is ranked at 211 and I Still Haven’t Found What I’m Looking For comes in at 321.

Dublin band, Thin Lizzy, got their song 'The Boys Are Back in Town' featured at 272.
While Northern-Irish singer Van Morrison also had 2 of his songs featured in the top 500.
