A new study questioned if intermittent fasting is actually beneficial
Intermittent fasting diets offer no additional weight loss benefit, a new study has found.
The diet is an eating plan that switches between fasting and eating on a regular schedule.
Research shows that intermittent fasting is a way to manage your weight and prevent, or even reverse, some forms of disease.
A trial led by John Hopkins University in the U.S. split 41 patients into two groups, with one group fasting and the other eating normally throughout the day.
Participants were given exactly the same daily meals and after 12 weeks, both groups had lost similar amounts of weight
The study concluded that there is “not a shred of evidence” it ramps up metabolism or boosts fat burning.
