Sinn Féin councillor Daithí Doolan has been vocal after a house party was broken up in Dublin on Sunday night.

Having house parties during a pandemic is "not fair to families and neighbours."

That's according to Sinn Féin's Daithí Doolan, who has spoken out about recent gatherings in Dublin.

Gardaí responded to reports of a large gathering in the Drimnigh area of Dublin on Sunday night.

The crowed were asked to disperse after Gardaí arrived.

According to the report, one man refused to comply with directions from officers, and became abusive.

Doolan says some people are "throwing caution to the wind" despite most people behaving responsibly.

He said, "The best thing people can do is don't have house parties. Don't be inviting people around to your house."

He also added those that comply with regulations should contact the appropriate services.

"If there are parties in your neighbourhood, do not hesitate to ring the guards."

Ireland is currently under restrictive measures to slow the spread of Covid-19, where large gatherings are banned.
