The Finance Minister says he believes the cost of living crisis will ease this year.
Households across the country have seen dramatic increases in their everyday living costs in the last two years.
Energy prices have fallen, as have prices for other goods and groceries, with a number of supermarkets announcing cuts in recent days.
Minister Michael McGrath says while he can't be certain, he is hopeful the cost of living will come down for people in 2024.
'I believe it will certainly ease. It's difficult to predict with certainty what will happen across the year and again there are always risks when it comes to an energy price shock for example, depending on what happens in the middle east, what happens in the red sea, you know what happens in the war in Ukraine.'
