Irish passengers likely to face disruption as Heathrow staff strike

Irish passengers are likely to face disruption as workers at Heathrow airport take strike action.

14 hundred staff at the London airport are walking off the job for 10 days in a row over pay.

It coincides with the busy Easter holiday period when many families are travelling.

Heathrow airport has said so far operations are smooth, with contingency plans in place.

Aviation journalist Eoghan Corry, says Dublin airport is likely to be affected:

"I suspect Dublin will be heavily impacted, really because they have alternatives. They're able to put their British Airways passengers onto Aer Lingus flights and isn't the busiest time of year - which is really the only plus out of this situation."
