It'll provide onward flight connections to over 80 destinations worldwide including North America.
If you're heading on your holidays from the west of Ireland, this new route opens up a slew of new possible destinations by flying through one of the world's most connected airports.
Ireland West Airport Managing Director Joe Gilmore says it's a welcome development:
"It's very good news for the business and leisure travelers here in the west and north west of Ireland. It's a daily Heathrow service and it started yesterday."
"It's a daily, all year round service, into a major international hub".
