The UN Agency for Refugees, the UNHCR, is calling on the Government to end homelessness among asylum seekers.
It's today coming before a UN committee to ask for a series of recommendations over Ireland's handling of refugees and international protection applicants.
The UNHCR's Aoife Harte says the Government needs to do more.
'The number of men this week who have not been offered a bed is now close to 900. We are very aware that the Government is facing significant challenges trying to source accommodation right now and the fact is they have to rise to this challenge. They have a legal and a moral responsibility to people who come here seeking safety.'
