There has been mixed messaging in recent days, with the Finance Minister citing various negative economic outlooks.
However, the Taoiseach this morning has suggested there could be more money going back into people's pockets - possibly up to 1000 euro. Speaking to the Irish Independent Leo Varadkar said he wants to ensure 'work' is rewarded and people 'keep money in their pockets'.
People Before Profit TD, Richard Boyd Barrett, says there needs to be an expanded package to help with the cost of living.
