A public meeting to discuss the controversial Nature Restoration Laws proposed by the EU is taking place in County Galway tomorrow.
If passed, the laws would result in at least 20 per cent of the EU's land and sea areas restored by 2030, in response to the biodiversity crisis.
Independent TDs Michael Fitzmaurice, Marian Harkin and Michael McNamara are hosting a meeting in the Shearwater Hotel in Ballinasle at 1 o'clock tomorrow afternoon to discuss the proposals, in particular plans around re-wetting land.
Deputy Fitzmaurice says all of Ireland's MEPs have also been invited and a legal expert will be present to provide a legal opinion:
