It happened near Williamstown last night.
A man in his sixties has died in a road crash in east Galway.
It followed a single-vehicle collision in the Croagh Hill area of Williamstown, at 8 o'clock last night.
The driver of the vehicle, who was sole occupant of the car, was pronounced dead at the scene after his vehicle struck a pole.
Gardaí are appealing for witnesses.
