A lack of accommodation is impacting 4 in 5 businesses in Galway in their ability to hire staff.
A new Galway Chamber survey shows over half have been told by workers there are no homes for rent in their price range.
Due to the accommodation shortage, 7 out of 10 Galway firms have reduced their hiring targets for the next 12 months.
Galway Chamber CEO, Kenny Deery says the housing crisis is getting in the way of doing business:
"It's really feeding into the cultural challenge in terms of organisations who are hugely ambitious and very successful in Galway."
"But we want to be able to have the talent live locally, engage locally, and at present, the housing situation as it has scaled and grown to the present challenge that it is, is really impacting their ability to do that."
