If you've noticed the weekly fill has gotten slightly easier on the pocket - it's because fuel prices have fallen again.

The latest price monitor from the AA shows petrol prices are on average 1 euro 57 cent per litre, down over one percent on April.

Diesel prices fell by two point six percent in the month to an average of 1 euro 47 cent a litre.

But don't get too excited, experts say the decreases will be short-lived.

Government duty on fuel which was cut last year, is due to rise again from June 1st.

That's expected to add six cent per litre back onto the price of petrol, and five cent for diesel.
