Should this be introduced in Ireland?
A new legislation has been approved in France to help protect the privacy of children online.
French MPs have all voted to introduce new laws that will prevent parents from posting photos of their kids on social media.
The law aims to show young people that their 'parents do not have an absolute right over thier image'.
MP Bruno Studer proposed the new law earlier this month and he told Le Monde, "A 13-year-old child has an average of 1,300 images of themselves circulating on the internet."
"These are photos that can be misused for child pornography or that can lead to bullying in the school environment", MP Studer added.
Ladbible report, once images are published on the internet, parents lose control to distribute the images.
The bill states that half of pictures exchanged on child pornography sites were initially posted by parents on social media.
