A Dublin-based animal charity says it urgently needs more people to foster dogs.
Dogs Trust Ireland says there is a huge volume of unwanted dogs in the country at the moment.
The charity recently took in a three year old malnourished Lurcher, who had given birth to 10 puppies in someone's garden.
When Rainbow arrived to us with her puppies, she was emaciated & exhausted. Clearly, she’d been straying for a while.
We fear cases like this are rising as Irish rescues & pounds run out of space.

It says surrender requests are at an all time high.
What do I need to become a foster carer?
You need to be:
- Over the age of 18 and have access to dog friendly transport for vet visits and to meet potential adopters
- Have a secure back garden as some of the dogs will not be toilet trainined and may not be ready for walks
- Have experience with dogs or are willing to learn
