New laws planned to tackle essay-writing services for students

New anti-cheating laws are set to crack down on services that write essays for students.

The practice known as "essay mills" is growing in popularity around the world from post-Leaving Cert courses up to PhD level.

Some people charge 150 euro for a 2,500 word piece, according to The Irish Independent.

The National Academic Integrity Network met in Dublin for the first time yesterday to discuss how the trend can be stopped.
